What's on the blog
The Madly Healing Blog is a reflection of real experiences, informed research, and compassionate storytelling. It is a space where knowledge meets validation, where those struggling with PMDD, CPTSD, and chronic illness can find both answers and community.
Let's talk about it.
what is trauma?
Trauma varies from person to person, and trauma can affect all people of all ages. Trauma can stem from emotional, psychological, and physical responses to life-threatening, harmful, or overwhelming events that an individual or group is unable to cope with the intensity of the experience or series of events. Trauma can affect people in different ways, depending on factors like the nature of the event, their personal resilience, and the support they receive.
What is PMDD?
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe and often debilitating condition that affects people during the luteal phase of their menstrual cycle. It goes beyond PMS, causing extreme mood swings, depression, anxiety, and physical symptoms that interfere with daily life. PMDD is believed to be linked to hormonal sensitivity rather than an imbalance, making it challenging to diagnose and manage.

How it all started
Madly Healing was not born from theory—it was born from lived reality. Years of unanswered questions, misdiagnoses, and feeling dismissed by the medical system left Cindy searching for a space where she could be seen, heard, and validated. The journey through PMDD, CPTSD, and chronic illness often felt isolating, but through research, community, and self-advocacy, she discovered something powerful: she was never truly alone. And neither are you.
This space was created out of the deep need for honest conversations, compassionate education, and a supportive network. Madly Healing is not just a website—it’s a movement dedicated to reclaiming agency over our well-being. Through personal storytelling, research-backed knowledge, and community engagement, this platform stands as a beacon of support for anyone seeking clarity, hope, and empowerment.
Healing is not linear, and it is not meant to be done in solitude. Whether you are here to learn more about your own journey, find tools to support your healing, or connect with others who understand—Madly Healing is here to hold space for you.
My story
For years, Cindy navigated a healthcare system that often dismissed her experiences, leaving her feeling unheard and misunderstood. Like so many others with chronic conditions and mental health struggles, she spent years searching for answers—only to be met with misdiagnoses, invalidation, and frustration. But through resilience, education, and a deep desire to create change, she transformed her pain into purpose.
Madly Healing was born from a need Cindy knew all too well—a space that not only acknowledges the realities of conditions like Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) but also empowers individuals with the knowledge and support to reclaim their well-being.
As an advocate, writer, and someone with lived experience, Cindy understands that healing is not a straight path—it is complex, nonlinear, and deeply personal. Through Madly Healing, she shares evidence-based education, personal reflections, and actionable resources, hoping to bridge the gap between medical understanding and real-life experiences.
